With an aptitude for mechanics in high school, Greg Wilson first went to school to work on cars. When he realized that wasn’t what he wanted to do for a living, he started work for Crane Canada and was promoted to foreman by the age of 22. It was here that Greg first gained knowledge of the gas field.
While a Kiln foreman, he worked also worked with the maintenance department operating and diagnosing gas fired kilns. When the plant shut down in the 90’s, Greg took his first B ticket course.
Shortly thereafter, Greg started his own business in the Lower Mainland before moving his family to Vancouver Island. Having to commute, he chose not to continue his own company at that time and instead fine-tuned his expertise in the gas fireplace field, sub-contracting gas installations to larger companies.
Greg eventually formed a very successful company, Glacier Heating & Plumbing Ltd., in the Comox Valley where he lived with his family for many years. Greg was offered a management position at a heating and plumbing business in Kelowna which he excelled at however the entrepreneurial spirit has never left him.
Wilson Home Heating Ltd is inspired by a dear friend Greg lost in the Spring of 2016. “Ray would of told me to go for it and he always called me Wilson. I'm grateful for this motivation although I miss him dearly.”
Personal service and doing the job right is Greg’s main focus for this company as it has been for his entire career of 20 plus years in the heating field.
